Salted Caramel Crepe with Creme Brulee Cubed Ice Cream

Tom Turtle is a dessert house specialising in premium cubed ice cream. Upon first glance I was really intrigued by the idea - "wow....an ice cream in a shape of a cube!".When our order came out however it suddenly became "its just an ice cream...in a shape of a cube..." haha

The crepes were made near the front register, and the cubed ice cream was "made" on the far back side of the store.  Because of this, the food was served to us separately; the crepe came to us first on a plate that was too big *refer to pictures*, and the ice cream came around 10-15 mins later on a smaller plate.  Based on the pictures, you can pretty much see how boring the presentation was, and considering it was a dessert house, we expected the food to be presented better.

Overall it was nothing special....the salted caramel was too buttery, and the creme brulee ice cream was just average (tasted more like vanilla than creme brulee).
If you really wanted try the cubed ice cream, you should just go and see for yourself; they have a wide selection of flavours from lemon lime bitters to wasabi (lol).

Decor: The store definitely spent a bit too much money on the decorations of the store, eg. the fake cubes of ice cream that were on display, that looked like molecular structures...
Service: The waiter was very enthusiastic upon taking our order and slightly over exaggerated on the size of ice cream cubes.  The food took a while to arrive considering there was 3 people working there and we were the only ones eating there.
Food: Pretty average... the ice cream cubes were pretty pricey as well.
The bottom line: ehhh...we probably won't be coming here again. Kudos to the idea and decor though!

  1. Oh my, the presentation does look a bit plain and uninspiring...and it's strange the crepe and icecream came separately.

Looks like some pretty cool flavours to choose from though!

  4. The cubes are cute but they're much smaller than you'd expect! Ice cream doesn't need to be pretty - just yummy :)

Thanks for visiting my blog and commenting x

  6. I came here when it first opened, was a Saturday night and not a single other person in sight lol. This was before they introduced the crepes. But yeah every time I walk past there's never anyone inside! I thought it was overpriced too.
