Recently we reviewed some of the Models Prefer Lip range and to move onto the different part of the face, we're now reviewing the eyes :) This includes the Essential Brow Kit, Double Agent Kohl Liner and BIGlash Mascara.
Essential Brow Kit (Medium/Dark) $12.99
The Essential Brow Kit is an all-in-one mini compact filled with all the eyebrow tools you would ever need. It includes a tinted wax to define, a brow powder to fill in the sparse areas, compact tweezers to shape brows and a slanted brush for application. Starting off with the tinted wax, this is super pigmented and does a fairly good job in defining. This colour in particular I think leans towards more dark than medium but you can make it work if you go in with a very light hand. The filling powder on the other hand is more medium and suits me a lot better. It's very buildable and covers up my sparse areas really well! The compact tweezers on the other hand are average. I wouldn't use these to fully shape my brows but I think it's really good for those pesky hairs on the brow bone. Similarly, the included brush is fairly whatever - a little flimsy but it's the product that counts right? The packaging is very sturdy & compact making it perfect for travel and on the go.
Double Agent Waterproof Kohl & Liner (Brown) $7.99
The Double Agent is an eyeliner used both as a liner and kohl for the inner waterline. It claims to be a highly pigmented formula that is extra precise, extremely long wearing and waterproof. First impressions is that the formula is quite creamy, making it easy to line my eyes. There isn't any drag or pull and is very pigmented with one swipe. The colour itself leans towards a chocolate brown with a subtle golden shimmer, apparent only when applied & in certain lighting. After putting on this eyeliner, I found that it did transfer to the top of my eyelids. I don't think this product particularly works for hooded eyes but you may have better luck if you have wider eye spaces!
Big Lash Mascara $14.99
Before using this product I was quite skeptical in how this mascara would perform. For my asian short straight lashes, most western mascaras either weigh down my lashes, don't hold my curl or smudge. To be honest, I was just expecting one or all of the above to occur. However to my surprise, once I tried this mascara - all my expectations were thrown out and I think this may be a March favourite (what a turn around). To put it quite simply, this mascara will hold your curl whilst volumising your lashes. The formula is buildable, gives very little to no clumping and is very light on the lashes. Better yet, it is so easy to remove and I feel like it won't do heavy damage to my lashes. The brush head is leaf-shaped and my first impression of it was that it was very big. Somehow it oddly works, giving nice separation, definition and the flicking out my lashes. The only downside to this mascara I would say is the actual product packaging size. It reminds me a lot of a slightly fatter whiteboard marker but I wouldn't say this is too much of a negative. All in all, this is definitely going to be placed into my everyday makeup bag :)
Overall, I've been fairly impressed by the Models Prefer line - great quality products without breaking your wallet. My pick of the bunch is the Big Lash mascara which I highly recommend :)
